Tips and questions relating to the GPS modules from SFE

Our German suppliers have developed a stand alone SMS unit for sending alarm texts.

It uses the GM862-QUAD and this works plug and play all over the world other than here in Canada and possibly the USA!!

We have a Rogers GSM sim card that works tested in a standard cell phone but when placed in this module, the module recognises the SIM and the LED assigned for testing the SIM is stable as it should be.

The issue the GM862-QUAD is not registering onto the Rogers GSM network.

Is there a setting required for North American access that would be different from Europe or anywhere else?

I have spoken to Rogers and they see no reason why it should not work.

HELP. :(

Don't forget to set the module to use the North American frequencies: AT#BND=1

Great tip thanks I have passed it onto Germany, as everything else seems to be in order you may (I hope) have found the key.

If you can think of anything else that may also cause this I really would be grateful for the help.

I will let you know if this tip works

Thanks in advance
