All,

I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm wondering if it's possible to connect a breadboard directly to my Macbook via USB and communicate with my various connections to said breadboard. I have breakout and an FTDI Basic connected to the breadboard but I see no mention of doing this directly without an Arduino or Raspberry PI connected. To be clear I'm trying to prototype a USB device that would one day be connected directly to the computer.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Taicho

You say you don't want an Arduino or Raspberry Pi - but what, exactly do you think you will be using to "... Communicate with my various connections ..."?

Communication generally means some sort of intelligence will handle the communication protocol.

It's not really possible to 'communicate' with a transistor or other discrete component.
