Hello,
I have got the WAV trigger : https://www.sparkfun.com/products/13660
I use an amplifier and speaker ( !!!! not the on board amplifier !!!! ).
I am thinking the easiest way to lower volume of sound. (I cannot do it from software).
Using a 10K potentiometer as voltage divider between the output of left channel to the corresponding input of the amplifier.
Consider this schematic for the way of wiring (link) http://www.sonelec-musique.com/electron ... tt_bf.html. Or see directly my solution not tested below.
The schematic of WAV trigger shows it use PCM5101 chip for line output. Its datasheet says
The integrated line driver surpasses all other charge-pump based line drivers by supporting loads down to 1kΩ.
So I think it means I could damage the chip if I short circuit the line output of WAV trigger.
I should add a 1K or 2K resistor (and there is already a 470ohms resistor).
Could you confirm by this way I will not damage the circuit ?

The aim is not to mute sound, -20db effect will be probably enough.
With best regards,
