Not that great on all this electronics/electrics stuff.

Know the very basics but it's normally programming (and motorcycles :P ) that's my forte!

I'm looking to use an IOIO to work out the power and Amps of a charging circuit and thus know the watts going in (and out for discharging).

I've got a 30A current sensor.
I also need to measure the voltage, which shouldn't be over 30v.
So; I need to reduce the voltage.
Can I do this with resistors, or will that cause problems for the rest of the circuit?

If that won't work, what solution should I be look too? (I note you can get specific voltage sensor modules with higher voltages.)
