Hi,

I'm building a solar powered weather station that requires the use of the RS232 shifter. Trying to conserve as much power as possible and wondering if I can remove the LEDs on the shifter.

Looks like I can from the schematics:

But I'm no expert.

Go ahead and remove the LEDs. It won't hurt.

You can remove either the LED or the current limit resistor (easier). Just use the hot tip of a solder pencil to push the resistor off the pads.
