Hi,

I'm a first time poster and fledgling Maker, so it's entirely possible that I'm wrong about this, but in the SIK v3.2 guidebook, the photo resistor is listed as a polarised component:

This threw me for a loop, as I was able to use the photo resistor either way. I did some research and all indications are that photo resistors are not polarised.

Is this an error in the guidebook? The online copy (https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/si ... toresistor) doesn't list the polarised components, and so isn't affected.

Cheers,
Chris

Good catch, and sorry for the mix up. You are right in that a photo resistor should not be polarized. Looking over a couple versions of the guide book, it looks like it was listed as polarized and not polarized depending on the version of the guide that you are using. We try our hardest to keep the guide accurate, but minor mistakes do slip through the cracks. Have fun experimenting and keep up the good work!
