I am trying to build a simple two-wheeled robot, much like the kits can do, but without paying the full price for the kit (typically $80+).
I have found the following products on SparkFun:
Shadow Chassis ROB-13301
Hobby Motor and Encoder Kit ROB-13260
Ball Caster Metal - 3/8" ROB-08909
Total $36
For now, I only want to know whether these products are physically compatible, so that I can use them to build a working robot. If minor bending/cutting/soldering is needed, it should not be a problem. I already have Raspberry Pi, battery pack, and some wiring. The motor control integration I assume I can figure out later.
If there is a kit that provides all of this together (for a similar price), that would be nice too!
