I have bought the IR Kit from Sparkfun and tried the examples of the website.

Example 1: Using the remote (Worked great, no problems)
Example 2: Transmitting. (My TV stays powered off)
You can see in the picture below, that the IR LED recieves the code from my Sony TV remote control.
When I push the button I can see on the serial window that the code is sent to the IR LED.
When I change the IR LED with a normal green LED, I can see the LED light up, when I click on the button.
But no reaction from the TV. Any ideas why my TV doesn't care about the breadboard remote control?
