MPLAB IDE - Couldn't locate build tool.

Post by doc » Tue Jul 14, 2009 11:49 pm

Below is the output message after trying to Build the CUI bootloader project for the Create USB Interface. I was using MPLAB IDE V8.33 with the programmer set for PICSTART Plus.

What do I need to setup so it will find the build tool?

I'm going to assume you're trying to use the C18 compiler from Microchip, correct? If so, then one easy way to solve this problem is to just download and re-install C18 from Microchip, and when do you do so, make sure the checkboxes in the installer are all checked (they do things like update MPLAB to point to the C18 files, etc.)

Here's the link to C18
