EM-406a and RS-232 Shifter SMD questions

For some reason I can not post my full question to the board, if someone with any prior experience with the EM-406a GPS module and RS232 SMD shifter could please PM me, it would be greatly appreciated.

Well, that seemed to post. Maybe I will try again..

I was going to hook up the EM-406a directly to an RS232 SMD shifter (both provided by SFE) for use with a PC. I wanted to know if all that must be done is simply connect the RS232 Tx and Rx to the EM-406a Tx and Rx. And supply both units with 5V power. Is there any resistor or component that must be placed somewhere that I am missing?
