Any idea how to add a camera to GM682-GPS

I don't think you can. The interface requires special cameras that are no longer available. You will have to control the GM-862 with a suitable MCU and interface a camera to that.

I have seen a few threads on the roundsolutions (Dec 2007) forum saying that they now have a solution, however you will have to email them to get the answer.

Yes, you can connect the C328 CMOS camera

I am still experimenting with it, but I now have some unreliable python code to take snapshots and save them to internal flash memory.

The camera connects to the serial interface.
