Does it have an internal antenna or does it have a jack that you have to plug an external antenna into?

Thanks.

It has an internal antenna, and a plastic case. I have the same GPS receiver (EM406) and I'm currently looking to replace it with an external SMA connector for an externally-mounted antenna... Pretty sure it can be done but haven't seen anyone else try it yet

From Sparkfun tech support:

The GeoChron contains the EM408 which does have the ability to attach a
MMCX adapter to SMA.

To echo njansen, here is a reply from SparkFun:

The GeoChron uses the EM-408 which has a MMCX connection, so an external antenna can be attached.
