Hi,

I'm brand new to Sparkfun's Redboard, but not Arduino. I have followed all the instructions on how to set this up and expected it to just find the FTDI chip on it without any issues. I have downloaded and installed the FTDI drivers linked in the page https://learn.sparkfun.com/ftdiDriversMac

I'm running an M1 MacBook Pro with Ventura 13.2.1 and it won't show up as a serial port when I plug it in. I'm assuming that these things don't work with M1 Macs yet. Is this correct?

Not sure which redboard you have, most don't use a ftdi chip. It's likely you need ch340 drivers instead, those can be found below.

Yep, that one definitely has a CH340.
Load the CH340 driver and you should be good to go!

I have done some searching on M1 Macs and the CH340 drivers to find a repo with an installer for the drivers. It's still not working though.

I'll keep on hammering away at it though and post when I know what the hell has gone wrong. I just find it weird to be the only one with this issue. Surely every M1 Mac owner has this issue.

OK... Anybody who has this problem please download the drivers from https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XY9kOZ ... sp=sharing

The drivers from github didn't work for me. They didn't install any kext extensions. Best of luck out there, and keep nerding
