Am trying to come up with a project that involve the use of the raspberry pi . Am building my own raspberry pi shield from scratch and i need it to be a better fusion than the raspberry pi shield shown here

Any idea on how i can improve the design especially on cost, efficiency and speed?

Not without more detail...what are you trying to accomplish with the shield?

Actually, it's not possible to figure out unless you implement one by yourself. At a glance, it looks like you can make the size of the PCB smaller (thus making the cost lesser) by selecting smaller packages of some components.

i will use the Raspberry Pi to Arduino Shield Connection Bridge to communicate it through the serial port.
