Even though the esp8266 is not as powerful as the esp32, it is still a very popular option, and it would be great to have it as part of the MicroMod family.

It doesn't look like we have any plans for the ESP8266 on Micromod. Since the ESP8266 doesn't have much I/O available, it's not a good fit for us to make a board, but feel free to spin your own if you would like. :-)
