Is it safe/appropriate to power the Artemis Open Logger from another QWIIC device? Specifically, the ZED-F9P GNSS receiver gets powered via USB, and seems to power the Logger via the QWIIC cable. Is that OK to do?

The OpenLogger specs indicate that it can be the QWIIC power source, but doesn't mention about being a sink.

Thanks!

It looks like the voltage on the 3.3 volt pin on the Qwiic connector is derived from another supply and has it's own voltage regulator. I don't think you would be able to back feed power through the connector and have the rest of the board fully work.

What you could do is snip the VCC wire on the Qwiic connector and wire that to the 3.3V pin on the other side of the board. That would do the trick. :-)

Thanks, Chris! I found that while the LEDs on the Artemis would light (dimmer than usual) when power was back fed, the unit didn't boot up. Not a big deal for me to power it directly, but it might be worth noting in the docs that the Artemis is a QWIIC power source only, not a sink.
