Hi

Unfortunately, my workplace still forces be to use IE6, and in there the middle column in the new site drops below the others - it didn't do this before.

If it's too much work to fix, I can deal!

Hey, I'm so sorry your workplace forces IE6 on you... there are better browsers! :)

You should get a splash page when you load the site that informs you that with this release we are no longer supporting IE6. Google, Facebook and many others have dropped support for it and it just takes too many resources to hack into submission. We support IE7+, and most other modern browsers as well as Google Chrome Frame which is a good option if you are forced to use IE6.

Good luck!

Don't know if you've noticed, but the RSS feed for Sparkfun news appears to be repeating the same article again and again in Google reader. I've now seen the announcement leading to this forum post at least 3 times, along with the AVR treasure chest, etc.

Thanks - great work on the site, too.

When I add an item to my wish list, I get bumped back up to the top of the page, which sucks because I generally show 100 products per page, and even with showing the basic 50, trying to find my previous location when browsing through the products gets annoying.

But, I'm very very wishlists where added! :mrgreen:

More sad news about the RSS feed, it still links to links like this;
http://www.sparkfun.com//news.php?id=484

And your rewrite rules doesnt seem to match that kind of links.

I get the following page;
Woah there, Turbo! Our server gnomes couldn't find the page you are looking for.
It looks like you mistyped the URL in your address bar or have followed an old bookmark.
We recently re-worked parts of the site, so it's possible we moved the page you're looking for.

But I also take the opportunity to say what a great job you've done! :)
(to an already great webshop :D)

Edit..
However, that was for the "newly added" posts to the RSS feed.. if I click on some earlier it seems to work just fine.
Using Win7 IE9 with your RSS feed on my links bar :)

A few items:
  • On https://www.sparkfun.com/account the word "receive" is misspelled in two places.
  • The "Add to Wishlist" button appears even if the quantity entered isn't a number. The add then fails with no feedback.
  • It wasn't immediately obvious that the public wishlist URL is just the URL of the page. It might be good to include it as a copiable item near the share via email area. (It would also be good to have a "semi-public" sharing option that isn't brute-forcable.)
  • Attempting to visit https://sparkfun.com/ redirects to http://www.sparkfun.com/index/index (note: no ssl and double "index").
  • There's no direct link to https://www.sparkfun.com/account/login available.
  • This URL generates an error: http://www.sparkfun.com/index/index/index/index but http://www.sparkfun.com/index/index/index doesn't. (lol @ "GET TO THA CHOPPAH" on the error page.)
  • Shopping cart accepts negative numbers for quantities but calculations treat them as positives. (Actually, the title on the shopping cart and the side bar treats it as a negative number--so I've got "-19 products" in my cart on the title and "-19 item" on the side bar.)
  • If you try to add to wish list after you've logged out in another tab there's no feedback for the attempted add failing.
  • Shopping cart doesn't list unit prices.
  • Attempting to add 100000000000000 of an item only adds 2147483647 items. :)
On the plus side, other things didn't break. :)

Nice work.
