Our company has just purchased the OLIMEX MSP430-JTAG-ISO emulator/programming device. With a MSP430 device attached to the JTAG port we can successfully read the flash from the MSP430 device into the internal flash of the Olimex programmer. We can then program other MSP430 boards via the WRITE function on the OLIMEX programmer.
However wondering if you can directly program the OLIMEX internal flash via the USB port rather than using the READ button via JTAG port? This would eliminate the need to have some software like IAR Embedded workbench to program at least one MSP430 device before programming in stand alone. Basically what I'm asking is if some simple application exist to directly program the internal flash of the Olimex programmer via USB.
