I try to use the MSP-JTAG-TINY with Windows 7 x86. I use the Olimex-Drivers 1.0.3.5. The Device-Manager tells no Problems.

The Olimex-Programmer tells me: "cannot initialize the port"

The IAR Kickstart tells:"Communication error. ..." as Olimex-USB

Can anyone help me?

Update: With Windows XP SP3 the same Problem...

32Bit.

I have found a Solution: I use the Driver-Package V1.0.34, which works.

1.0.35 work flawlessly for me (on an MSP430F1611). Windows 7 x86, also tested on WinXPSP3.

I was having this same problem, and I found a solution wanted to post for anyone else that encounters this issue.

In my case, I was running Windows Vista x86 (32-bit). I had the programmer connected through a USB hub. The hub also had several other devices connected. The programmer would work one or two times then it would give the error. I could unplug it and reconnect, and usually the problem would go away.

The solution: I moved the programmer to connect directly to the host PC, eliminating the USB hub. No more problems.
