Hello,
I am trying to program an ATmega1284P micro in circuit with a JTAGICE3 programmer. I am using Atmel studio 6.1
The dialog box keeps telling me that the target device has got 0V on it. Do you know how i can solve this. Is their somewhere where i have to tell it that i am expecting the USB to give the 5V?

yes ive now done that and itr still wont program, it complains the connections arent right but they are.
I am wondering if we should instead buy the AVRISP programmer instead and simply use that......within AVR studio environment...just literally shovel the hex file in and jobs done?...Atmel Studio and JTAGICE3 seems a bit complicated.

I use a AVRISP MKII with the Arduino IDE to program my 1280's and 644's
