Hi,
I've just purchased the Pocket AVR Programmer from SPF. I didn't know how painful it is to get it going until I got my hands on it. anyways, it has been two days I am dealing with this and I can't get the Pocket AVR Programmer connected to Windows. I have read a lot of posts online and took all the steps necessary. The problem is when I connect the unit to my computer I don't see the Windows notifier of new device, it's like nothing is connected. I only see the blue LED comes on and that's it. I have tried different cables, different ports nothing works. The result is I get the

Error message
avrdude error could not find usbtiny device (0x1781/0xc9f)

1- Do you guys think the programmer is defective?
2- I have read few tutorials on this and they all mentioned that Windows has to notify as a pop-up that new new device is connected?
3- How would I know if the device is Actually connected to my laptop?

I have tried all the possible Driver combination too, even installed different Versions of WinAVR nothing works.

Please help
