im a noob to microcontrollers and got the avr pocket programmer to start on a tutorial and learn, and maybe make a terminator. but the driver folder had several files that were executable. i don't know what any of them do, and when i tried to run them it said i needed to open it with a specific program. im trying to get this to work with my win7 laptop.

1. Go to the Control Panel
2. Switch to Category view
3. Click on "Hardware and Sound"
4. Under "Devices and Printers," select the ultimate option, "Device Manager"
5. Connect the programmer to your computer and wait for Windows to say "Device driver software was not successfully installed"
6. In the Device Manager, under "Other devices," select "Unknown device"
7. Swtich to the "Driver" tab
8. Select "Update Driver..."
9. Select "Browse my computer for driver software"
10. Enter the folder that contains the drivers from the AVR Pocket Programmer page (Only select the folder, do not open the folder and select the files within)
11. Click "Next"
12. Click "Install driver software anyway" when Windows explains it cannot verify the driver's author.
