Getting Input from RFID Scanner into my PIC 16F690

Post by badboyz » Mon Sep 20, 2010 4:35 am

Greetings..
I'm am fairly new to micro-controllers, and am in dire need of help.
I'm am trying to connect my RFID Scanner,the RFID SCANNER was purchased at sparkfun.com the number is SEN-08852 to my PIC 16F690 micro-controller, i under stand that i have to connect the TX port of the RFID scanner to the RX port on my micro-controller, and then connect the RX port of my RFID scanner to the TX Port of the Micro-controller, i'm just a bit clueless as to how to get the 12 bit information from my RFID to the micro-controller in terms of programming.
Here is what i have so far

Code: Select all

char* PISO(){
unsigned int Tx;
unsigned char RX;
char *ID_temp= malloc(12 * sizeof (char));
While(tx==1){
RX = *ID_temp++;
return *ID_temp;
}
Can someone please help me with this, i have been trying for days to get it to work but with no luck...
thanks...

Did you read the data sheet for the RFID chip?
The data format is there.
