A few months ago I bought a Weller WES51 soldering station at Fry's. Last week it died. The green LED comes on but the iron does not heat up. Since you provide the soldering iron tips for this, I was thinking that you might use the same station and have a suggestion for something simple to try.

I have misplaced the receipt so I can't take it back. I didn't turn anything up in a Google so I thought I would give you a try.

Is there maybe a fuse on the inside that is prone to blow open?

Hmm. I really don't know. Our WES50 works great and I've never cracked the case. All I can suggest is to open-er up and see what the insides look like.
