The Intel Edison is a great device.

Unfortunately, the engineers at Intel should keep in mind that most makers are producing their pcb on their own or at least hand soldering.

They have choose to use a 70-pin Hirose connector. This device is really small and is not DIY friendly at all.

Would you consider to produce a breakout board with a 70-pin Hirose Receptacle Header already soldered on it and another connector which is DIY friendly ? It can be smaller than a 0.1" pitch header. Why not a 0.05" one. (i.e. : A connector from the Minitek 127™ 20021323 series. There are 70 connectors ones.) But at least a hand soldered friendly one.

This way we can make our own pcb with the stuffs that we need and solder or connect your breakout board with the Intel Edison on it. We can think to mount a base or a console block too on it.
