i would really love to see a RJ45 connector with integrated magnetics in the spark fun store. is that possible?

One problem with that is the magnetics need to be matched to the particular Ethernet PHY chip it's going to be hooked up to. So they would have to decide which chips they are going to support and Murphy says it won't be the chip you want to use...

actually i wanted the connector thats on the ENC28J60 breakout board because i was planning to get a free sample of the ENC28J60 and build an embedded webserver. and because i was low on budget, the breakout board looks a bit expensive.

anyway ill try to look at some other online shop. or maybe i should just buy the breakout board.

Same with me, I want to use the ENC28J60 chips I have but cant find an RJ45 connector with the magnetics inbuilt.

Scratch that, bought some off eBay the other week.

When I get around to it they might end up being used.
