L297 Stepper Motor Controller

SparkFun currently sells the L298N full bridge motor driver with a breakout board which is useful for driving DC motors and stepper motors, but using this chip with stepper motors can be made even easier with the L297. These two chips work so well together that they actually mention each other in their datasheets. The L297 is available in a DIP with standard .1" lead spacing. It has built-in chopper circuitry, and it support full- and half-stepping. When the L297 and L298N are combined, driving stepper motors is made very easy.
