almost all of the NOR flash that is available is in a TSOP package. hacking a new device usually require you get some NOR flash working on the device to do testing and debugging.
a couple of companies make some TSOP1/2 boards, but i've not seen them on sparkfun. might even be nice to see some premade versions with popular NOR flash such as some of the intel strata flash.
