an Arduino simulator

once you get to a certain level ,you need something to enable a builder to get onto more involved assemblies ,so i thought a simulator like say 'Livewire' might be a way to go .
if it can spit out some code all the better ...

Something akin to MPLAB SIM would be enough but both are ideas more suited to the Arduino team than SFE.

Have a look at Simulator for Arduino http://www.arduino.com.au/Simulator-for-Arduino.html We are planning to release updates at least once a month. Saw that someone is also talking about this in the Adafruit forum.
