... I think.

There are several books that deal with building your own test equipment like power supplies, meters, frequency counters, timers, function generators, and battery monitors.

It would be nice if SparkFun could make available all of the components so that customers could just buy the kit and assemble it themselves. Or, you could merely make a parts list available and skip the extra inventory item.

Also, since you guys have some engineers working there, y'all could update and improve the designs and publish a book via Lulu.

The books are:
Pepper, Clement C., Build Your Own Home Lab
Petruzzellis, Thomas, Build Your Own Electronics Workshop
Bergquist, Carl, Build Your Own Test Equipment

Yes, but the problems with that are...

1) What design to use? Potential copyright problem here if Sparky doesn't create their own design.
2) What happens when the customer doesn't know what they're doing and puts it together wrong and complains about it?

I think it would be easier to just discuss individual projects you might have or want (that's what the Projects section is for anyway).

Another problem: There are already companies that sell test equipment in kit form (and pre-built mass-produced gear dirt-cheap), so there isn't much profit to be had that way. Sparkfun will get better return on their time and $ making and selling things that can't be found elsewhere.
