Altimeters and other aviation instruments get the outside pressure via PVC tubing
I recommend you produce a breakout board where the pressure sensor can be in some way mated to a tube
There are probably a number of different approaches to this. The only important factor is that it works reliably.
The pressure sensor need to be accurate for some applications (eg variometer). BMP085 will probably do (.25m)
