Well I think a board that could control hundreds of leds would be great ,even if rainbowduino exists
for this kind of projects the outputs are not enough .
It could be a shield for arduino or a dev board (I prefer the shield solution) with as many as multiplexers arduino can handle and fit in a shield and pins for the outputs .
Such product would be great since the numbers of pins issue has been wandering in many people's minds.

Yes I have checked this out ,but it cannot be controlled with arduino and I dont have money to buy and the dev board
for this one since its above my budget .

MondoMatrix products are modular. Multiple LEDMatrix modules can be connected together to "control hundreds of leds" (actually, it's thousands).

Their Displayduino, which acts as the controller, is such a neat product in that it has screw terminals and has an for RS485 communication to the modules.
