I as well as pretty much everyone on the planet has more than one mobile phone. Well why not use the components for our projects? Most stuff use the same connectors as the CMOS camera but with more or less pins. For these parts all you would need is the connector and barely 1"x1" PCB. That way mobile phones get reused and we can hack more stuff to our own efforts.
No documentation is needed or wanted. For $4 or so we could take control of old mobile phone parts with quick connection to other parts
