Have a good idea for a new product for SFE or Olimex? Let us know!

Am I they only one who would like to play around with pressure sensors?
There's two types I would like to see on SFE:
1) Absolute air pressure for barometers or altitude measurement.
2) Waterproff sensor for measuring depth. These should be small enough for making a wrist watch-style depthmeasuring gadget for divers or RC subs.

This would spark an idea or two in my head...

Have you seen the stuff from Freescale? They have a variety of choices such as:

There is an application note there on how to measure liquid level without immersing the sensor.

I ordered some free samples :D and I plan to make some level detectors which will interface to my 1wire setup as soon as my PCBs arrive.

This sensor was recommended by a customer (Thanks!). We are on the list for samples and then becoming a distro in Q1 of 06. Fancy stuff! We are excited.

Best news I've heard for a while. I am keen to get a sample or two myself as, being a skydiver I have a serious application for them. Life saving stuff.

I will be watching for developments here closely.

for what it's worth, the Freescale MPX-series sensors are really easy to solder to a wire wrap board so there's really no need (as far as I would guess) for a breakout board for them. They work really well, I used them to measure intake manifold pressure in engines and as a barometer.
