LOL, about a week ago I opened up my $20 MP3 player just to see what IC's it used ect. after, I closed it back up again. Then when i read your post the company SigMatel rang a bell. So I reopened my MP3 Player an their it was a Sigmatel STMP3400L. The name of my MP3 player is MTV Evolution 64.
PS: It was $40 but go it on clearance
Looks a little too exotic I am afraid to say. ICs like that are meant for large scale products with hefty volumes. I'll call and see, but the website looks like it's a big corp difficult to deal with.
