Lego Grand Carousel using Sparkfun snappable protoboard

Post by ttrueger » Mon Mar 27, 2017 3:20 pm

Lego's Grand Carousel (set 10196) is one of their nicest models: http://brickset.com/sets/10196-1/Grand-Carousel

For a while I've wanted to light it up, and recently completed the project. I first showed it at SXSW Create in Austin, and I'll be bringing it to Maker Faire in Austin in May.

To help manage the internal wiring, I made extensive use of Sparkfun's snappable protoboard: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/13268. It made non-rectangular shapes for my wire-wrap boards quite easy to do.

A video of the completed project (and links to other info) can be found here: https://youtu.be/bWpxw-rT0Cw

Many thanks, Sparkfun!
