Hi There,
This is probably a silly question but I occasionally read about overheating/fires with loose power connections so I wanted to be safe...
After lots of Googling on 2.1mm Barrel Power Connectors I saw someone say that you should use a 5mm male connector in a 5.5mm female connector to ensure that the male connector is pushed slightly offset by the female connector to ensure the centre 2.1mm connection is sound. This makes sense but I was thinking that if the male is 5mm and the female is 5.5 mm then will there be limited contact on the outside edges that could cause overheating or a fire?
Kind regards,
James
