I have ordered a DEV-13626 (power board for a Photon) which should arrive this week. My project is to monitor a small apiary (a group of beehives) so I will need a waterproof case to housing the DEV-13626 and the Photon that sits in it.

As I'm new to the Maker scene, I don't know of a good place for waterproof cases for Sparkfun boards. Can these be purchased off the shelf, or do I need to find a waterproof case from a place like Otter and then retro-fit it (drilling compromises waterproof-ness). My Plan B is to use some heavy duty tupperware. Or maybe I just get a https://www.sparkfun.com/products/11366 ?

Any advise is welcome.

Thanks!

One of my favorite sources of enclosures is Polycase. They have good prices and excellent service: been buying from them for years. Enclosures rated NEMA 4X/IP66 will be waterproof (washdown proof from high pressure hose). I think Bud makes a lot of the enclosures that they sell.

You can also try outdoor electrical boxes from a building supply store. Might be cheaper.
