Hello,I am a undergrad and trying to make a Drone with 3D mapping capabilities to be used to collect geospatial information.I have a pretty small budget for this project and was thinking to use garmin Lidar lite v3 hp as my sensor.I was wonder about the feasibilty of this and if anyone could suggest a better Lidar sensor at this price point.Thank You.

Sure, from about 40 meters elevation, maximum. It would be extremely difficult to beat the quality and price of the Lidar Lite V3, but that is the least of your problems. Obtaining the accurate 3D orientation and location of the drone will be the really, really difficult part.

See this 3D rendering of a church scan, using the Lidar Lite https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUbFzMz ... e=youtu.be
