Hey folks, sound newbie here.

I'm trying to use the electret microphone breakout board (the old one, from https://www.sparkfun.com/products/retired/9964) to record some sound and save it to a sd card. I'm using the Teensy 3.2 and the audio breakout board. No matter how I wire it, it seems, I always get significant static and clicking on the recording.

I have the op-amp connected to 3.3V (connecting it to 5V caused the sound to become garbage), ground directly to ground, and the mic to line in. The board I'm using has a special mic input as well (that I had to disconnect the op-amp to use) but the results were exactly the same. I tried shortening the wire I have connected to the breakout board as well as adding a 5k resistor before ground (I saw it mentioned in the comments of the product) and neither have done much in the way of fixing this problem.

I know that the board and code is otherwise functional because when I hooked up my computer audio to line in it recorded flawlessly with no problems.

Anyone have any ideas? Here's a typical sound clip with the static/clicking and me knocking as a test: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1X4Rg_ ... wsUmj-5XkQ

Thanks in advance.
