I got a 50 pack of some MicroUSB plugs from Amazon and they have the plug covers and such but I have since gone through 4 of them and not gotten one to work yet. The pads are TINY and Ive tried low heat and high heat to get the solder to melt quicker but I keep melting plastic even with a super fine tip. These things are pretty aggravating lol

So you know which ones I am talking about its these kind: https://i.imgur.com/ALfwsv6.jpg
I think part of the issue too is the cord I'm trying to fix has a thicker red and black cable than the green n white ones.

So, any ideas how best to get solder joints that are complete and not cold joints and dont melt the plastic at the same time?
