Sealing my project

I want to use the Arduino trinket and a board of leds to make a LED candle. These will be going in pumpkins for Halloween this year. Since these will be out in the weather, what is the best way to seal this? I have read about potting compounds? How much would I need and how hard is that to work with? Can you use normal two part epoxy?

Potting compound is expensive and nasty to work with. Hot glue usually works fine for something where reliability isn't critical. Or just wrap it in electrical tape. It only has to last a few nights outside.
