Maxim Electronics had two nice controller chips, the Max712 and Max713, that could be configured for up to 16 cells and would (with a couple external parts) provide a nice system. Sadly, there seems to be no more availability -- out of production. I am making a portable audio product and need a charge controller that will handle 12 NiMh cells. Does anyone have any good ideas? I have seen some Arduino applications. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
