HELP WITH A 12 volt DC source 2N3055 transistor OSCILLATOR

Hello @ ALL,
am having problems building my IC555 & 2N3055 transistor Oscillator.
the problem is the 2N3055 does not turn on. the power is there and the transistor
checks out OK with DVM. need help or does any one know of a SIMPLE 12 vdc Oscillator circuit.
also I tried to attach the schematic but nothing worked.
