Hello,
I would like to measure the very very strong impact of punch, but I have doubts what's accelerometer Do I have to buy?
What's the better adxl193 or adxl345?

Thanks a lot

The adxl345 is a 3 axis, digital output accelerometer with a peak measurement of 16Gs. The adxl193 is a single axis, analog output with a 250G peak reading. So it all depends on your specific application. If the punching "bag" is a small, low mass device and so will accelerate at a high rate when hit, perhaps the adxl193 is the better device. But you'll have to align your punches to that single axis each time.

If you don't want to be so restricted then more axes is better and the adxl345 will (assuming the 16G limit is not exceeded) be more capable of discerning the "strength" btw any 2 punches due to it's 13 bit resolution.

You might want to search the forums here as this has been discussed before and there's some thinking that using an accelerometer might not be the best way to measure a punch or kick. A force sensitive resistor is another device you might want to look into. Or perhaps the two (FSR and accel) in some combination.
