First sorry for the vague title..
Now it's time for me to ask some questions and get a little advice.
I am about to undertake a project that will transform a Star Trek Tricorder into a LED and LCD ballet. Much like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hd_LV_mUd14 (notice the LCD playing video).
This is where my question comes in. I have plenty of experience with LEDs and drivers but I am brainstorming on how to design the LCD part of this. I did contact the person who built the one in the video and he stated he used an mp4 player that came from a watch (the ones they sell from China). But the more I look at these the more worried I get thinking about trying to hack them to play videos by pressing buttons on the Tricorder. The easiest way I can think of is using a RasPi to play video on a small screen like this one http://www.adafruit.com/products/910.
So I am asking the fine people here if anyone has any advice as I do not have much experience with LCDs.
