Audio Amplifier with usb input HELP

I am trying to use sparkfun's STA540 audio amplifier to play music from my Ipod. I have a usb A female breakout board that I use to connect my Ipod to the Amplifier. I don't know which USB pins to connect to the Amplifier's inputs. I'm not sure if I'll need a digital to analog converter. You'll a lot more than just a pair of D/A converters to use the data (if any) coming over the USB data pins. Why not feed the analog headphone jack outputs into the amp ?
