As a noob I apologize for a rather basic question but I am wondering how to connect to the Arduino pins w/o using Dupont connectors which are great for breadboarding and proof of concept but too loose for a final project. I am fine with soldering or some sort of quick disconnect connector.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Nothing wrong with the standard Arduino jumpers as long as the pin & socket is tight. I use them all the time since they are faster than making up custom wire harnesses. The key is to keep the pin & socket joint from being able to work loose. So bundle them together and zip tie the as you you would any harness and secure the harness to a fixed object.
I've built a bunch of projects like this, but unfortunately, I didn't take any photos.

If you need an even better connection than this, then solder on male headers with retention clips and make/buy matching female sockets with wiring to suit.
