Arduino Variable speed dc motor with BLE

Hi
Can someone refer me to a sketch that uses Uno and BLE and motorshield that receives a message via ble from smart phone, and adjusts the 12 volt dc motor speed (28 steps!) from zero to full speed. The motor will receive power from a 12 volt battery. Smartphone app etc ok.
An Ardublock would be great too, so that I can understand how Ardublock works and how to change things to suit.
First project, old brain, and need something close.
