We're working on a project using servos which will be running off a power supply. The arduino ground and the power supply ground need to be tied together, according to the arduino playground references. What sort of protection should be included in the circuit to ensure that the power supply doesn't damage the arduino during normal or irregular function. We're thinking a diode or transistor to prevent a back flow of current in the common ground. Any ideas?
